Ramps & pools.

Sometimes & some places, one must make do, in the search for rideable surfaces. We cannot always have pools to ride. Ramps have been a constant thing throughout my skating, as they have for others. Jim Howell has always had ramps…as long as I’ve known him. (35+ years). It appears as though Darren Ho has had his fair share of ramps to ride as well. Two different pool skaters from thousands of miles apart, connected by wood, concrete & the need for weightlessness. If you live somewhere and have no pools or bowls…build one. It’ll change your life. Thanks to Jim Howell (Love you my brother!),  Jim Goodrich, and Brian Walnum for the images. Skate-Ozzie

I am in love with my ramp and I’ve had it for less than a week. Greatest thing since sliced bread. Really!

I skated Rory’s ramp a bunch (actually Tom Peach’s) as a kid…never on the level of Darren as shown, just rolling back and forth as that was the first ramp the local groms had ever encountered. Ramp was right on Ke Nui rd. right next to Ehukai…we also had the Kammies ditch up in back of our house that was a regular stop with Button’s and my buddy Dave Cantrell aka mini Buttons…had the Kammies square pool right on the beach as well…Jay Adam’s was living with his mom around the corner from us off and on during this time. Man, seems like yesterday. Thanks for the blast Ozzie.
